    Day 1: Arrival in Tangier» Chefchaouen

    Your 8 days tour from Tangier starts with a pick-up at Ibnou Battuta airport or your accommodation in Tangier city also known as the “Bride Of The North”. Your driver guide from My Moroccan Tours will be there waiting to greet you and start exploring Tangier.

    The exploration includes visits to the famous landmarks, starting with the Caves of Hercules, famously resembling the shape of Africa. Following this, you’ll visit Cap Spartel, home to a lighthouse built in 1864 that offers stunning views overlooking the ocean. After that, traverse the Rif Mountains to the blue city of Chefchaouen.

    Day 2: Chefchaouen» Volubilis Ruins» Meknes» Fes

    Following breakfast, we’ll drive toward Fes, the oldest city in Morocco. Keep an eye out for the Moroccan countryside with its natural splendor as we make our way to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. A historical place with remnants of the Roman empire dates back to the 3rd century BC. It’s also an important archaeological site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we’ll make our way to Meknes, also known as the Ismaili capital or the Versailles of Morocco.

    Once we get to Meknes, we’ll be exploring its prominent landmarks. Firstly, the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, built by Moulay Ismail. We’ll also pay a visit to the majestic Royal Stables, the Sahrij Souani basin, and the magnificent Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We’ll then continue toward Fes for a relaxing overnight stay.

    Day 3: Fes Sightseeing Guided Tour

    Your Fes sightseeing tour starts with a local guide giving you a real taste of daily life. Wander through the vibrant streets lined with an array of handmade treasures. From textiles, ceramics, and spices to the colorful Berber rugs. Everywhere you look, there’s something to catch your eyes.

    The guided tour then takes you to explore the historical and cultural sites of Fes. Starting with the Golden Doors of the Royal Palace, each is bigger than the last. You’ll also visit the Chouara Tannery, the oldest tannery in the world, dating back to the 11th century.

    Also visit the decorated Al Attarine Madrasa and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Moreover, the University of Al Quaraouiyine is one of the oldest in the world, dating back to the 9th century. In the afternoon, we’ll escort you to Borj Sud to take in the stunning vistas of the whole Medina

    Day 4: Fes» Ifrane» Azrou» Midelt» Merzouga Desert

    On the 4th day of your 8 days Morocco desert tour, we’ll start by crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and visit the nearby town of Ifrane, also known as the Switzerland of Morocco, famous for its Swiss architecture and cool climate. Next, we’ll take a stop at the national park of Azrou, you’ll get to meet up with Barbary monkeys.

    After a lunch break at Midelt or towns nearby, we’ll pass through Ziz Valley, which offers panoramic views of palm groves on our way to the Sahara. The favorite part of the entire trip for travelers is the desert experience, you’ll ride camels through the golden dunes catching the sunset atop a high dune.

    Staying in the desert camp is one of the best things that you’ll do and it’s a special experience. After dinner, gather around the fireplace to enjoy some traditional Berber music and dance under a blanket of stars.

    Day 5: Merzouga Excursion» Khamlia» Desert Mines» Visit Nomad Family

    A wake-up early is highly recommended to catch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, it’s time to dive into the region’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. We’ll start our desert adventure by visiting Khamlia village. Its inhabitants, originating from south Africa, practice the Gnawa folklore. Prepare to be amazed by the Gnawa music and traditional dances that offer a glimpse into the cultural richness of the region.

    Next, we’ll hit the road to visit Mifis mines. This place has a rich history, having been once home to miners extracting kohl, an ancient eye cosmetic that is commonly used as eyeliner. Our journey continues with a visit to a nomadic Berber family to explore their way of life. Imagine sipping tea under their handmade tent listening to stories about nomad life. You’ll feel a profound connection to this timeless land. For lunch, you may want to savor the flavors of Medfouna (Berber pizza) at local restaurant.

    After that, we return to Merzouga, where you can relax and complete the day. By the late afternoon, if you’re up for more adventure, you can opt for quad biking or buggy driving. Alternatively, if you want to keep relaxing, take a nice walk to the dunes close by. 

    Day 6: Merzouga Desert» Rissani» Erfoud» Todra Gorges» Dades Valley

    After watching the sun rise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoy your breakfast, and then turn back to Merzouga. We’ll leave the Sahara desert and head to the southwest of Morocco. Today’s adventure is going to be a wild one, taking you through some stunning oases and ancient Berber villages. Our first stop will be at the Rissani market, which hosts a traditional souk every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. A world of colors, smells, and sounds that reflect the essence of Morocco, imagine finding the perfect souvenir to take home from this vibrant market.

    Afterward, we’ll hit the road again toward the fascinating canyons of the Todra Gorges. Get ready for an awe-inspiring sight; towering red limestone cliffs that seem to reach the sky (300 meters), creating a natural wonder that will leave you in awe. Take some time to stroll along the river and take in the beauty of these Grand Canyons.

    Next to Dades Valley, a trove of natural wonders nestled in the heart of Morocco. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at the rock formations of the Monkey Fingers. Finally, check into your hotel, relax, freshen up, and get ready for a delightful dinner.

    Day 7:  Dades Valley» Rose Valley» Ouarzazate» Ait Ben Haddou» Marrakech

    This morning, we’ll drive to visit Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival held every May. The locals offer an array of products produced from the rose, such as rose water, oil, soap, and perfume, among others. Afterward, we’ll hit the road of a thousand Kasbah, passing through the vast palm groves of Skoura. At its heart lies the historic Kasbah Amridil, a symbol of Berber architecture and heritage.

    Thereafter, we hit the road again, passing through the cinematic Ouarzazate until we reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage Site that has hosted many movies, like Game of Thrones and Gladiator. After that, we’ll drive to Marrakech, crossing the high Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n Tichka pass (2260 m). In the evening we’ll arrive in Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation.

    Day 8: Marrakech Airport
