After breakfast, we’ll start our journey from Casablanca to Rabat. Firstly, we’ll make a fascinating stop in the capital Morocco, Rabat. It’s unique as the only coastal imperial city in Morocco, offering a unique blend of history and culture. We’ll visit the majestic Hassan Tower and the nearby tomb of Mohamed V. Following this, the Kasbah of Udayas, which provides some spectacular views of the Bouregreg River. Next, we’ll head towards Chefchaouen.
As soon as we arrive, we’ll escort you to your accommodation. The afternoon is yours, feel free to stroll through the mesmerizing blue-painted buildings. Imagine with each step you take, the city’s charm wraps around you, furthermore, its blue alleys lead you into a world of tranquility. In the late afternoon, why not go on a little adventure? Take a short walk up to the Spanish Mosque perched on high ground, offering stunning views of the entire blue city.
Following breakfast, we’ll drive toward Fes, the oldest city in Morocco. Keep an eye out for the Moroccan countryside with its natural splendor as we make our way to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. A historical place with remnants of the Roman empire dates back to the 3rd century BC. It’s also an important archaeological site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we’ll make our way to Meknes, also known as the Ismaili capital or the Versailles of Morocco.
Meknes, also known as the capital Ismaili, one of the four Moroccan imperial cities. Here, you’ll visit Bab El Mansour gate, the Royal Stables, the Sahrij Souani basin, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Following a lunch break, we’ll then continue to Fes for a peaceful stay in a charming riad.
Today is dedicated to exploring the ancient city of Fes with a local expert who knows every corner of the Medina. Wander through the lively souks brimming with unique handmade treasures and the air filled with the smells of spices, perfumes, and the fresh bread from the bakeries.
The walking tour then guides you through the historical and cultural landmarks of Fes. Firstly, the regal Royal Palace, featuring seven imposing golden doors. Next, explore the Chouara Tannery, the oldest in the world, which has been continuously operating since the 11th century. It provides a unique opportunity to watch skilled workers cleaning, dyeing, and drying leather using traditional techniques.
Visit the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa, founded by Sultan Faris Abu Inan, and the Jewish quarter. Finally, visit the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Borj Sud,an old fortress offering panoramic views of the whole Medina.
In the morning, we’ll set off towards the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, a city known as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’ for its architecture and cool climate. Subsequently, we continue to the cedar forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary macaques. Here, we’ll make a short stop to capture some fun photos with these friendly creatures.
After enjoying free time for lunch in Midelt, we’ll then drive along the Ziz valley, enjoying stunning panoramic views of the palm trees. From there, we pass through the fossil-rich town of Erfoud to the Sahara Desert. By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga Desert, and there, your camels stand ready to take on a true nomadic experience.
Ride your camel and traverse the golden dunes of Merzouga. As sunset approaches, a pause will be made for you to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets in your life. After enjoying the sunset, continue to your desert camp, relax in your tent, and prepare for a delicious evening meal. Finally, the day ends with a party night by the fire, listening to the melodies of Berber drums performed by nomads.
Wake up early to see a spectacular sunrise over the golden dunes and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then return to Merzouga village. We’ll leave the Sahara desert. Firstly, our stop is the town of Rissani, which was the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. A commercial center that comes alive every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Here, a traditional market full of spices, handcrafts, and the sound of vendors calls out to passersby, inviting them to taste their wares.
Afterwards, we’ll drive on the Road of 1000 Kasbah towards Todra Gorges. Towering limestone-red cliffs, reaching up to 300 meters high. After that, we drive to Dades Valley, known for its verdant valleys and red rock formations. Along the way, we’ll stop to behold the stunning rock formations of the “Monkey fingers” Finally, we’ll continue to your accommodation for a relaxing overnight stay.
This morning, we’ll drive to visit Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival held every May. The locals offer an array of products produced from the rose, such as rose water, oil, soap, and perfume, among others. Afterward, we’ll hit the road of a thousand Kasbah, passing through the vast palm groves of Skoura. At its heart lies the historic Kasbah Amridil, a symbol of Berber architecture and heritage.
After that, we’ll drive toward the famous village of Ait Ben Haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the cinematic legacy of films like Game of Thrones and Gladiator. As you walk around, imagine yourself as part of a Hollywood movie, walking in the same streets as knights and kings. Following lunch, we’ll proceed to Marrakech via the scenic Tizi n-Tichka pass (2260 m), offering stunning vistas along the way. The day concludes with our arrival in Marrakech.
Today, after breakfast, you’ll be exploring Marrakech, or amur n akush, which means Land of God in Berber. Your expert local guide will show you the must-see historical and cultural landmarks of the city. The visit includes: the famous Koutoubia Mosque, built in the 12th century, as well as the Saadian tombs, the Bahía Palace, and the renowned Ben Youssef Quranic Madrasa.
