Details

For those who don’t like nature, this full-day trip from Fez to the Central Atlas Mountains is a great opportunity to escape the busy city of Fez, enjoy the natural beauty, breathe in the fresh air, and take pictures with Barbary macaques. is. This excursion first visits Imauzer, then Ifrane, Einbaital, Azrou and Cedar Forest.

In the morning around 10am our driver will meet you and transport you in an air conditioning vehicle. Winding our way through the mountains, our first top will be Immouzer knowns by its apple festival annually in September. We will continue on our journey to Ain Vital’s breathtaking surroundings to capture some photos. As you approach Ifrane (our Switzerland of Morocco), you’ll notice that it is a charming French-built village with sloping rooftops that will give you the impression that you are in Europe. You may explore the University of Alakhawaine, and the famous stone lion, and the well-kept streets of Ifrane. Continue on to Azrou, where there are cedar forests, and you’ll be astounded by how many barbary apes there are—roughly 75% of them.

After playing with the monkeys, feeding them you will have a break for lunch. Then we proceed to Azrou, a Berber village with buildings that still bear the marks of their earlier eras that is situated in the heart of the Middle Atlas range. Therefore, it is common to see the inhabitants working at their typical trades, particularly carpentry, and tending to their flocks. The majority of the residents of Azrou’s hamlet live in caves, therefore visiting one of these families and enjoying some mint tea with them is a must for us to finish our tour. These families are hospitable and would be delighted to share their straightforward way of life with you. Last but not least, our driver will transport you back to Fez and drop you off at your lodging.
