11 Days Morocco Tour From Casablanca

After breakfast, we’ll depart from Casablanca and set our sights on Chefchaouen. En route, we’ll make a stop in Rabat,the capital of Morocco. This unique coastal imperial city is a tapestry of history and culture. Behold the iconic Hassan Tower, a monument that showcases the city’s ancient grandeur. Also, pay a visit to the tomb of Mohamed V.

Afterwards, we’ll ascend to the Kasbah of Udayas, an ancient fortress offering panoramic views where the Bouregreg River meets the North Atlantic Ocean. After lunch, our journey takes us northward to the enchanting Chefchaouen, also known as the blue city. A charming town nestled in the heart of the Rif Mountains.

After breakfast, a full day of wonder in Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue Pearl, located in the north part of Morocco. It’s a place where the hue of azure dominates, coloring everything from the buildings, streets, doors, and windows.

Visit the town heart, the central square known as Outa Hammam, and the historic 15th century Kasbah. Remember to also pay a visit to Ras El Ma and other sites. Stroll through the blue alleys, alive with leather shops, textiles, and colorful Berber rugs. Keep your camera at hand to capture the blue scenes at every turn and street.

As the sun starts to set, hike to the Spanish Mosque, situated on a hill, and feast your eyes on the breathtaking views of the entire Medina. After enjoying the vistas, return to your accommodation.

Following breakfast, we’ll drive toward Fes, the oldest city in Morocco. Keep an eye out for the Moroccan countryside with its natural splendor as we make our way to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. A historical place with remnants of the Roman empire dates back to the 3rd century BC. It’s also an important archaeological site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we’ll make our way to Meknes, also known as the Ismaili capital or the Versailles of Morocco.

Once we get to Meknes, we’ll be exploring its prominent landmarks. Firstly, the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, built by Moulay Ismail. We’ll also pay a visit to the majestic Royal Stables, the Sahrij Souani basin, and the magnificent Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We’ll then continue toward Fes for a relaxing overnight stay.

The Fes sightseeing tour begins with an expert local guide, offering an insider’s look into everyday life in this lively city. Stroll through streets brimming with artisanal treasures. From ceramics and aromatic spices to ornate Berber rugs adorning the streets. Every corner offers a visual feast like no other.

The walking tour then guides you through the historical and cultural landmarks of Fes. Firstly, the regal Royal Palace, featuring seven imposing golden doors. Next, explore the Chouara Tannery, the oldest in the world, which has been continuously operating since the 11th century. It provides a unique opportunity to watch skilled workers cleaning, dyeing, and drying leather using traditional techniques.

Visit the magnificent Bou Inania Madrasa, founded by Sultan Faris Abu Inan, and the Jewish quarter. Finally, visit the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Borj Sud,an old fortress offering panoramic views of the whole Medina.

After breakfast, we’ll drive through the heart of the Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, also known as the Switzerland of Morocco, famous for its Alpine architecture and winter snow. From there, head to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where we’ll pause to see the Barbary macaques and capture joyful photographs amidst the area’s natural splendor.

From there, we’ll continue to Midelt for a satisfying midday meal. We’ll then drive along the lush Ziz Valley, guiding us toward Merzouga via Erfoud. By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga Desert, and there, your camels stand ready to take on a true nomadic experience. Mount your camel and traverse the golden dunes of Merzouga. As sunset approaches, a pause will be made for you to witness one of the most beautiful sunsets in your life.

After enjoying the sunset, continue to your desert camp, relax in your tent, and prepare for a delicious evening meal. Finally, the day ends with a party night by the fire, listening to the melodies of Berber drums performed by nomads. Imagine yourself relaxing under the vast desert sky, where the stars twinkle like diamonds. And each passing moment, waiting for the moment to see a shooting star and make a wish.

On the 7th day of your 11 days Morocco tour, it’s better to wake up early in the morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Erg Chebbi sandy dunes. After breakfast, decide between a camel trek or a 4×4 excursion back to Merzouga. The desert excursion begins with a visit to Khamlia, famous for its Gnawa music and warm-hearted people. Its inhabitants originate from southern African countries. Immerse yourself in the culture, dance alongside the Gnawa artists, and enjoy their enchanting melodies.

Next, we hit the road again to the M’Fis mines, with a brief stop in Galb Elnas for panoramic views of Erg Chebbi. Discover historical mines, including a mineral once used as an eyeliner (kohl). Following that, engage in a unique encounter with a nomadic Berber family within their handcrafted tent. Share a warm cup of tea and listen to their fascinating tales of nomadic existence.

Savor a tasty midday meal in Khamlia, then we’ll take you to your lodging to complete the day. By late afternoon, you can opt for an adrenaline-fueled quad bike or buggy drive, or enjoy a stroll to the adjacent sand dunes.

Today, following breakfast, we set our sights on Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty. Firstly, we’ll discover its traditional souk, with an array of aromatic spices, textiles, and traditional crafts offering a vibrant glimpse into the local life.

Afterwards, we’ll drive on the Road of 1000 Kasbah towards Todra Gorges. Towering limestone-red cliffs, reaching up to 300 meters high. After that, we drive to Dades Valley, known for its verdant valleys and red rock formations. Along the way, we’ll stop to behold the stunning rock formations of the “Monkey fingers” Finally, we’ll continue to your accommodation for a relaxing overnight stay.

Following the morning meal, we’ll head to Kalaat M’gouna, home to the Rose Festival held every May. Here, locals offer an array of rose products like rose water, oils, soaps, and perfumes. After that, the journey continues through Skoura palm groves, leading us to the historical fort of Kasbah Amridil. Next on our itinerary is Ouarzazate, also known as Hollywood of Morocco,” home to Atlas Studios, one of the largest film production studios in the world.

After that, we’ll drive toward the famous village of Ait Ben Haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the cinematic legacy of films like Game of Thrones and Gladiator. As you walk around, imagine yourself as part of a Hollywood movie, walking in the same streets as knights and kings. Following lunch, we’ll proceed to Marrakech via the scenic Tizi n-Tichka pass (2260 m), offering stunning vistas along the way. The day concludes with our arrival in Marrakech.

Today, immerse yourself in the allure of Marrakech, hailed as one of the most enchanting destinations in the world. Your local guide will show you the historical landmarks of the city.Firstly, visit the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, then the Saadian dynasty mausoleums, and take in the magnificence of the Bahia Palace.

Furthermore, Ben Youssef Madrasa, a 14th century Islamic college, stands as an architectural wonder decorated with carved cedar wood and zellij tilework. Imagine wandering through the souks of Marrakech, a treasure trove of handicrafts, where every turn offers a new discovery, and every handcraft has a story to tell.

As the sun begins to set, Jemaa El Fna square comes alive with a symphony of colors and sounds. This plaza offers a panoramic view of the sunset, complemented by an enchanting array of live shows. After enjoying the shows, return to your comfortable  riad.
